Smolan Woman Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle

In Smolan last night, an incident occurred in the 300 block of E North St at approximately 10:01 pm involving a 67-year-old male driver from Salina. The driver, behind the wheel of a 2013 GM truck, was exiting a residence onto E North St. His front seat passenger began yelling, while a female in front of the truck began frantically waving her arms. Shortly after, a thud was heard.

As a result of the impact, the 75-year-old woman from Smolan and in search of a cat, was struck and knocked down, but was not run over. EMS transported her to SRHC with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck sustained minimal damage in the incident and currently, no citations have been issued. The accident is still under investigation.
