Smith Center Woman Arrested After Windows Broken at Grain Elevator

On Thursday, September 21, at 2:57 pm, officers were sent to the 500 block of N Santa Fe, for the report of a female breaking windows at a grain elevator.

On the scene, officers located 43-year-old Kandis Attwood of Smith Center, who reportedly had cuts consistent with the breaking of windows. While attempting to make contact with Attwood, she allegedly attempted to wipe her bloody arm on an officer. Attwood was taken to SRHC for her injuries.

While at the hospital, Attwood was reportedly able to grab a spray nozzle and spray water on an officer and a security guard. She was then placed in a body wrap, to which she resisted and an officer's sunglasses were damaged. Attwood allegedly grabbed an officer's hands and legs. She was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Damage to Property
  • Assault on Law Enforcement Officer
  • Interference with Law Enforcement Officer
  • Battery on Law Enforcement Officer
  • Battery
  • Disorderly Conduct
