Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The NWS in Wichita has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Saline County until 5:45 pm. At 5:25 pm, a severe thunderstorm was located near Gypsum, or 8 miles southeast of Salina, moving east at 35 mph. 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail are possible. This storm is automated airport sensor reported and radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Salina, Assaria, Gypsum, Smolan, Falun, Salina Airport, and Kipp. This includes the highways of Interstate 135 between mm 80 and 95; Interstate 70 between mm 249 and 250. Radar indicates possible hail threat at .75, and a maximum observed wind gust of 60 mph.
