Serious Injuries After Vehicles Collide on Interstate

The Kansas Highway Patrol worked an injury accident on Thursday, November 16 in Saline County.

The KHP report indicates that the accident occurred at 8:05 pm, on I-135, milepost 95 Northbound. A 2003 GMC Sonoma, driven by a 17-year-old Beverly, KS female, and a 2006 Peterbilt Tractor, driven by a 66-year-old Wisconsin man, were traveling northbound on I-135. The GMC started to take the exit to I-70, when veering back onto I-135 into the driving lane. Both vehicles collided with side swiping.

Both drivers, as well as a 66-year-old female passenger in the semi-tractor, also from Wisconsin, were transported to SRHC with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the GMC and passenger of the semi-tractor were not believed to be wearing a seatbelt, while the driver of the semi-tractor was believed to be properly restrained.
