Jacob Schmeidler began serving as the Central Kansas District 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent on June 12. The Central Kansas Extension District (CKD) has offices in Minneapolis and Salina, Kansas. Schmeidler’s primary office is in Salina.
Schmeidler will provide leadership in the development and delivery of educational programs for school-aged youth in Saline and Ottawa Counties. His focus will be to support the 250 4-H members throughout the district, coordinate out-of-school programs, engage with other educators on school enrichment activities, collaborate with over 125 volunteers, and create innovative opportunities with new and existing community partners.
Schmeidler has an extensive 4-H background and was involved in youth leadership at the local, state and national levels while growing up in Hays, KS. He is a graduate of Hutchinson Community College as well as Kansas State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science & Industry with a Communications and Marketing Option. Schmeidler interned with the K-State Youth Livestock Program in Manhattan and has been a freelance cattle service and sales preparation worker for several years.
