Congratulations are in order for K9 officers Marshal and Leroy of the Saline County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad. The two bloodhounds have successfully completed their certification in Level 2 Wilderness Trailing, a challenging and prestigious accomplishment earned in the rugged North Dakota badlands.
The rigorous training, held in collaboration with Badlands Search and Rescue and the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, tested the dogs' abilities in one of the most demanding environments in the country. Marshal and Leroy’s success in achieving this advanced certification is a testament to their skill and the dedication of their handlers.
After a 13-hour drive, the duo has returned to Saline County, rested, and ready to continue their work in the community. Their new certification enhances their ability to track and locate individuals in challenging wilderness conditions, further strengthening the rescue squad's capabilities.
