Saline County has received high ratings in the latest County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) Annual Data Release, according to information released Wednesday.
The report, which provides health trend data for counties nationwide, shows Saline County ranking above average in Population Health & Well-being and far above average in Community Conditions. These categories measure factors including life expectancy, physical and mental health outcomes, housing, income, education, and social environments.
This year's report uses graphical visualizations rather than numerical rankings to present county health data, as noted by the Live Well Saline County Coalition.
The Kansas Health Institute (KHI), which serves as the state team for the 2025 CHR&R release, has compiled county-specific profiles comparing local data to state and national trends.
The report introduces the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI) Model of Health, which examines how social and economic factors influence long-term health outcomes.
Statewide, 104 of Kansas's 105 counties met the criteria for inclusion in the report's health and community condition summaries. Health outcomes vary across counties throughout the state.
