Saline County Opts for Insurance Pool to Curb Rising Costs

On June 25, 2024, the Saline County Commission approved joining the Kansas County Association Multiline Pool (KCAMP) to manage rising insurance costs. Historically, the county has procured insurance through commercial brokers, but significant cost increases and reduced coverage options prompted the change.

Current policies with Travelers Insurance are up for renewal on July 1, facing a 34% premium hike and increased deductibles. KCAMP's one-year quote of $597,715 offers savings and comprehensive coverage compared to the $633,519 estimated cost with Travelers and additional brokers. Joining KCAMP is expected to mitigate future financial pressures on the county.
