Saline County Commissioners Discuss Essential Building System Commissioning for New Jail

In a County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, County Administration addressed an important aspect of the construction of the new Saline County Jail. The focus of the discussion was on the commissioning of critical building systems necessary for the efficient operation of the facility.

To ensure the proper functioning of essential building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and heating, it has been deemed essential to undergo a commissioning process. This process involves independent third-party testing to verify that these systems are performing as designed and are fully capable of meeting the building's operational needs.

In a move aligned with industry best practices, a sum of $125,000 has been allocated within the project budget for the new Jail and Sheriff's Office to fund this commissioning effort.

Treanor HL, architects for the project, solicited proposals from three reputable firms with experience in commissioning building systems. Those proposals were received on September 29, and are as follows:
