Saline County Commission - February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Saline County Commission - February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
An advocate from DVACK reads the Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Proclamation.

Saline County Board of Commissioners has designated February 2024 as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month to shed light on a pressing issue affecting adolescents. Statistics show that 1 in 3 adolescents in the US experiences abuse from a dating partner, with 1 in 10 high school students facing physical or emotional abuse. The proclamation aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of dating violence among teens, its detrimental effects on mental and physical health, and the importance of education and intervention to prevent such incidents. The Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas and the community are urged to work together to support victims and promote healthy relationships among youth.
