Saline County Commission Approves Conversion of Federal Funds to State Dollars for Transportation Projects

The Saline County Commission recently approved the conversion of federal funds totaling $232,629.76 into state funds at a 90/10 exchange rate, resulting in $209,366.78 available for transportation-related expenses.

This decision allows the county to utilize the funds through a transportation reimbursement program rather than being restricted to federally funded projects. Engineering plans to allocate the funds to the 2024 asphalt road maintenance program, covering various tasks such as overlay, chip seal, crack seal, and aggregate shouldering.
