During the Commission meeting on March 26, 2024, a request for action was presented by Rural Fire District 3 regarding the construction of a new fire station in Brookville. The district sought approval to enter into an agreement with WDM Architects for schematic design services.
After reviewing proposals from WDM Architects and M Squared Architects, a review committee determined that WDM Architects' proposal ranked the highest in all evaluation criteria and was deemed the most responsive.
The County Commission unanimously approved the agreement with WDM Architects for schematic design services, with a lump sum of $7,950.00 and $141 in other reimbursable expenses, totaling not to exceed $8,091. This agreement includes other phases such as design development and construction documents, with a total architect services cost not to exceed $43,886.
The budget impact of the project will be covered by a $95,000 ARPA grant awarded to Rural Fire District 3 for the new Brookville fire station. The grant funds will be allocated for the survey, land purchase, architectural services, and other site preparation work.
