Salina311: Year One
One year ago today, we decided to see if there was any interest in local-only news in Saline County.
We didn't have any grand plans at the time. We just wanted to experiment.
One year later, thanks to you, this has become far greater than we would have ever guessed.
You have our sincerest THANK YOU for the support and feedback over the last year.
Now, we want to tell you a little more about how we will improve in year two.
What Comes Next?
As we embark on year two, we have several significant updates coming (and four more that we aren't ready to announce yet).
- First and foremost, we're adding to the news coverage staff. There are many topics/events that are not covered in Saline County, and we will be fixing this. If you're interested in our reporting positions, please email us at: news@salina311.com.
- We are expanding the categories of news that you can receive right in your inbox. Make sure to click the ACCOUNT button to adjust your settings.
- You will soon have an option to upgrade your Newspaper Delivery to arrive in a box, along with products from local businesses, producers, and creators. Call it the "Salina Box."
- We're going to let you in on the journey here. If there's anything we have learned from the past couple of years it's that there is a serious lack of trust in information and the media. If we want to earn and retain your trust we need to let our members know more about the inside of Salina311. So, we're going to let you in on what is happening each month. Our members will learn how things are going, the challenges, the ideas, and have an opportunity to provide feedback to help us improve.
Thank you again, and if you have any ideas on how we can improve, we are all ears: ears@salina311.com
