In the early hours of Friday, December 8, at 1:05 am, officers responded to a call at the emergency room. A 32-year-old male had presented himself with a stab wound to the chest. According to the victim, he had an argument with his 35-year-old girlfriend, Erica Wroten, at a residence in the 1400 block of Cheyenne. Allegedly, during the argument, Wroten used a kitchen knife to stab him dangerously close to the heart. Following the incident, she gave him transportation to the hospital and then departed.

Wroten was later arrested at her residence in the 500 block of Russell. She is now facing requested charges of attempted first-degree murder, domestic battery, interference with a law enforcement officer, and violating a protection order. The victim, fortunately, was discharged from the hospital after a brief period of medical attention.
