Salina Police and Salina Fire Department medical units responded to a medical call at a single-family residence in central Salina at 7:42 a.m. on January 12, 2026.
According to Salina Police Department, officers and medics were dispatched to the home for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with the occupants of the residence. Police stated that just prior to calling emergency services, one of the occupants discovered a 5-month-old male unresponsive in his crib.
Both adult occupants of the home were interviewed by Salina Police detectives.
Police identified Adyson Burr, 21, a resident of the home, as the suspect in the case. Burr has been arrested and charged with one count of first-degree homicide and one count of child abuse.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed later this week in Kansas City.
