A vehicle theft incident unfolded on Monday, February 12. At 5:32 pm, officers were called by a Salina resident who reported that his vehicle was stolen, only to have it later recovered in Wichita. The victim said that his 2005 tan Ford F350 had been parked in his driveway on the 900 block of E Ellsworth at 6:45 am.
The victim left for work, only to receive a call at 1 pm from Wichita Deputies informing him of his vehicle's discovery in their jurisdiction. Upon receiving this news, the victim traveled to Wichita to reclaim his stolen vehicle before contacting the Salina Police Department to report the theft.
An examination of the vehicle revealed both the front and passenger side door handles broken, and the ignition drilled out.
