Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning at a Kwik Shop in south Salina.
According to police officials, a 25-year-old Salina man arrived at Salina Regional Health Center around 1 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his arm. The victim was later transferred to a Wichita hospital for surgery. Authorities have described his injuries as non-life-threatening.
Initial investigation indicates the shooting took place in the parking lot of the Kwik Shop located in the 1600 block of South Ninth Street. The victim reported giving a ride to an unknown male subject, described only as a Black male with dreadlocks. During the ride, an argument reportedly broke out between the two individuals, leading to the shooting.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene on foot after the incident. The victim told investigators he had picked up the suspect somewhere in north Salina before driving to the Kwik Shop where the shooting occurred.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are actively seeking witnesses. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Salina Police Department.
