Salina Man Cited After Hit & Run Involving 10 ft Chain Link Fence

A Salina man was cited in a possible hit and run that involved a 10 foot chain link fence in west Salina.

Captain Forrester says that the alleged hit and run occurred on Tuesday, May 2 at 10:50 pm, in the 1100 block of Holiday. A vehicle was westbound on Holiday, when it appeared the driver lost control, and struck a 10 foot chain link fence and gate at 440 S Clark, Mini Mall Storage.

Officers were notified of the apparent wreck on Wednesday, May 3 at 8 am. Surveillance video allegedly shows a vehicle traveling westbound on Holiday. The vehicle lost a rear tire, then lost control, hit the curb, which caused the vehicle to spin around and strike the fence. The driver and a passenger can allegedly be seen pushing the vehicle away from the fence, and then driving off without the tire.

Later on Wednesday, May 3, officers were sent to the 100 block of N Chicago. Contact was made with 23-year-old Kevin Tremblay, who allegedly reported that he was the driver of a Ford Mustang. The Mustang sustained front end damage and was missing a rear tire. Mr Tremblay was cited for the following:

  • reckless driving
  • duty upon striking property
  • no proof of insurance
  • speed reasonable and prudent
