On Friday, July 14, at 4:43 pm, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Winona for a domestic violence call. The 25-year-old female victim, from Salina, reported that a male acquaintance, later identified as 33-year-old Duc Ho of Salina, had allegedly attempted to kill her.
The two were allegedly involved in an argument at the residence. The victim suffered serious injuries when she was allegedly struck multiple times and was strangled by Ho. At one point, Ho allegedly pushed her head into a mirror, causing it to break. The victim attempted to escape multiple times, only to allegedly be pulled back inside by Ho.
During the incident, Ho allegedly made comments that he was going to kill the victim. The victim was eventually able to escape to a neighborβs home where she called 911. Ho was located a short time later at another residence in Salina. He allegedly had a small amount of marijuana in his possession. He was arrested on the requested charges of Attempted 2nd degree homicide, Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery, Criminal Restraint, and Possession of Marijuana.
