Salina Man Arrested for Domestic Battery Following New Year's Incident

A Salina man was arrested on multiple charges including felony aggravated domestic battery after allegedly choking and assaulting a woman early New Year's morning.

Anthony Clark Bishop, 30, was taken into custody at 4:40 PM on January 1st in the 700 block of South Broadway Boulevard. The incident occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:20 AM that morning in the 400 block of Missouri.

Police responded after the 34-year-old victim, who cohabitates with Bishop, fled the residence. Officers found her crying and without a shirt, which had reportedly been torn off during the altercation. She showed visible facial injuries.

The victim was examined at a local hospital by a SANE/SART nurse who documented her injuries, including evidence of choking. She has since been released.

Bishop faces charges of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, criminal restraint, and criminal damage to property. He was arrested without incident.
