On Friday, July 14 at 5:40 pm, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of S. 5th for a report of a male allegedly destroying property in the residence. An officer made contact with 34-year-old Victor Delatorre at the residence, who was allegedly highly intoxicated.
The officer attempted to arrest Victor, but he was allegedly non-compliant and attempted to flee. The officer deployed a TASER at Victor, which enabled to officer to effect the arrest. Victor allegedly continued to resist and had to be placed in a body wrap. He then allegedly spit on an officer.
In was learned that Victor had allegedly destroyed $20 worth of house plants inside the home for no apparent reason. He was arrested on the requested charges of Criminal Damage to Property, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer and Criminal Threat.
