Salina Man Arrested After Bar Disturbance

On Saturday, November 13, Salina Police officers were dispatched to the area of Library Sports Bar & Grill, at 1307 S Santa Fe.

At 1:20 am, a disturbance was reported involving a subject reported to be armed with a handgun.

An employee of the Library reported that there was a disturbance in the bar between several subjects. A male wearing a black hoodie was asked to leave the bar, along with several other patrons. The male wearing the hoodie exited the premises and went to a vehicle. A witness reported that the man took a black semi-automatic handgun out of the vehicle, and walk toward the bar entrance.

It was at that time that police sirens could be heard responding, and the subject allegedly took off running.

An officer observed a subject matching the description running in the 1300 block of Norton, four blocks from the scene. A witness from the bar identified him as the subject who had the gun. A handgun was reportedly located in the area where the subject was located by an officer.

Dreshawn Watson, a 27-year-old Salina resident, was arrested on requested charges of disorderly conduct and possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
