A Salina man was arrested Monday evening following a domestic violence incident and subsequent pursuit that ended when police tracked his footprints in the snow.
Mauro Roman was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a Kansas City, Missouri woman at a residence in the 1600 block of Beverly around 3:15 PM on January 6.
According to police reports, the incident began when Roman became agitated about the victim's plans to return to her home in Kansas City.

Several hours later, at approximately 7 PM, police received information from an associate of Roman indicating his location at a residence in the 2700 block of Brett. As officers approached, Roman reportedly fled on foot. Salina Police officers followed footprints left in the snow, which led them to a van parked in the 2600 block of Colonial where they found Roman hiding. Investigators noted Roman had no connection to the vehicle.
The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.Roman was booked into the Saline County Jail on multiple charges, including aggravated domestic battery, criminal threat, felony interference, and vehicle burglary.
