The Salina Municipal Solid Waste Landfill has been closed until further notice following a power outage caused by lightning during a thunderstorm on September 17, 2024. The outage has rendered computer systems and the scale house inoperable, preventing normal operations at the landfill.
Staff are currently working to resolve the issue and restore power. The public will be notified as soon as the landfill reopens.
Trash collection services from all providers may experience delays until the landfill is back in operation.
