Salina, KS — This week, Salina Fire Department personnel participated in hands-on training sessions focused on thermal imaging fundamentals. The sessions, conducted in partnership with mutual aid agencies, featured burn-and-learn exercises using the Max Fire Box and Palmer Doll Houses.
The training, led by Chief Starnes, introduced firefighters to Seek Thermal’s Attack Pro and Fire Pro 300 devices. The equipment allows responders to assess fire behavior and heat signatures more efficiently in real-world scenarios.
These sessions were designed to build familiarity with thermal imaging tools as part of continued professional development in fireground tactics.
