Salina, KS — With football season fast approaching, the Salina Fire Department is conducting specialized training this week focused on EMS response to football-related injuries and medical emergencies that may occur in the stands.
According to the department, the training scenarios include a range of situations—from common sports injuries like sprains and concussions to more serious medical events involving spectators. The goal is to ensure that crews are prepared to respond quickly, efficiently, and safely in high-pressure environments where time is critical.
“These scenarios help our crews stay sharp and ready to respond quickly and safely when seconds count,” the department shared on social media.
The proactive training reflects the department’s commitment to public safety during high-attendance events, particularly as schools and athletic programs prepare for the upcoming season. Fire and EMS personnel are expected to support both on-field athlete care and fan medical response as needed throughout the fall.
