Salina Fire Chief Tony Sneidar Resigns

City Manager Mike Schrage has announced the resignation of Fire Chief Anthony “Tony” Sneidar Jr., who joined the Salina Fire Department in March 2022. Chief Sneidar will remain with the department until November 1.

During his time in Salina, Chief Sneidar led several key initiatives, including the implementation of station alerting at all fire stations, development plans for a new Fire Station 4, significant upgrades to the department's fleet, and securing a "Baby Box" for the community through private funding.

“Serving the department and the Salina community has been an honor," said Sneidar. "The time my wife and I have spent here has been truly special, and we will miss the many friendships and experiences we’ve gained along the way. I wish the city, its residents, and the SFD continued success.”

City Manager Schrage expressed gratitude, stating, “I want to thank Chief Sneidar for his service and wish him well in his retirement.”
