Salina Fire Chief Shane Pearson has been named the Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs State Fire Chief of the Year.
Pearson received the honor Wednesday during the annual KSAFC Conference in Manhattan. The award recognizes outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication within the firefighting profession.
Under Pearson's leadership, the Salina Fire Department has developed a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous personnel development. His work in strategic planning, community engagement, and emergency response has strengthened departmental effectiveness and community trust.
The City of Salina congratulated Pearson on the recognition and thanked him for his continued service to the community.
