SALINA, KS — The Salina Fire Department, in coordination with the Salina Police Department’s SWAT team, hosted a joint training session aimed at offering a hands-on experience for a group of local men who had long expressed an interest in firefighting.
The event included hose evolution exercises and other operational drills typically used in fire service training. Members of the SWAT team participated alongside the group, gaining exposure to techniques outside their usual scope of training.
According to the Salina Fire Department, the session was designed to provide an engaging, educational opportunity for participants while strengthening inter-agency collaboration. The day concluded with several team-based scenarios and equipment demonstrations.
