Salina Family YMCA Wraps Up 2025 Corporate Cup Challenge with Community 5K

The Salina Family YMCA concluded the 2025 Corporate Cup Challenge on Saturday with a spirited 5K run/walk, bringing together teams from across the community to celebrate six weeks of friendly competition.

From co-workers cheering each other on to families and friends crossing the finish line together, the final event captured the true spirit of the Corporate Cup—teamwork, camaraderie, and community pride.

The YMCA extends its gratitude to Great Plains Ag, Salina Family Healthcare Center, and Sunflower Bank for helping bring the fun to this year’s events. Special thanks also go to our volunteers, the Salina Police Department, Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park – City of Salina, Tony’s Pizza Events Center, Saline County, and all participating businesses for working together to make the 5K a success.

The YMCA also thanks Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, the season sponsor, and the Salina Fieldhouse for donating basketballs for the 3-on-3 Challenge earlier in the series.

Finally, heartfelt appreciation goes to KWU Graduate Student Joe Finder, YMCA Sports Director Jonathan Barajas, and the YMCA staff for reviving this beloved tradition. “It was the smiles, the laughs, and the undying will to win that made these events so special,” Joe shared. “I’m so proud of our community and can’t wait for 2026!”

The 2025 Corporate Cup Challenge featured six events designed to promote wellness, teamwork, and community connection. Planning for the 2026 season is already underway.
