Salina City Commission Backs Housing Tax Credit Application

At their July 8 meeting, the Salina City Commission passed a resolution, supporting an application by KC Development, LLC for the Kansas Housing Investor Tax Credit (KHITC) Program. This application pertains to properties in the Stone Lake Addition.

The resolution aligns with the Live Salina Plan-2021 Supplement, which advocates for increased housing and economic incentives to encourage new developments. Commissioners highlighted a persistent shortage of quality housing in Salina and emphasized the need for additional financial incentives to spur private sector construction and renovation.

The Commission's support for KC Development, LLC’s application is seen as crucial for addressing housing shortages and promoting economic growth in the city.
