The Salina Central Mustangs kicked off the first round of the football playoffs on Halloween night, facing Topeka West. The Mustangs entered the postseason 7-1, looking to carry momentum from their regular season into the playoffs, while the Chargers were 1-7 and aimed to pull off an upset.
At halftime, Salina Central led Topeka West 62-14. The Mustangs maintained control throughout the second half, pulling away with a 68-22 win. Salina Central will play Goddard next week in the second round of postseason play.
