Salina Central Shines at Tennis Invitational Held at New Salina Tennis Center
The Salina Central Invitational took place on Saturday at the new Salina Tennis Center in Kenwood Park, bringing together some of the best high school tennis talent from across Kansas. A total of 13 high schools participated in the tournament, which featured 24 doubles teams and 28 singles players. Each team consisted of two singles players and two doubles teams, with some schools also entering additional players into the draw.
Salina Central was led by their standout doubles team of Addison Renfro and Mallory Renfro, who captured the doubles championship by defeating their own teammates, Claire Renfro and Kinsley Foth, in the finals.
In singles play, Central's Brooke Banninger secured 10th place, while Cadence Foth finished 15th. Central also fielded another full team, including singles players Lilly VanZant and Imani De La Cruz, along with doubles teams Taylor Schrader & Kodi Waite and Sereniti Brown & Avery Hendricks.
Maize South emerged as the overall team champion, while Salina Central placed third, and Salina South came in fourth.
