Downtown Salina witnessed a momentous occasion as the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce joined in the festivities to mark the grand re-opening of the Salina Art Center Cinema. The Cinema stands as a true gem within our vibrant community. With an impressive sum of over $1 million already raised for the Capitol Campaign, the enthusiastic support from the Salina community for our local treasures is evident.
The completion of Phase 1 of the SAC Building Creatively Campaign signifies a significant milestone. The accomplishment of this phase is the transformation of the cinema, a cherished establishment with a 25-year legacy. Initiated by local visionaries who aimed to establish their very own foreign film festival, the cinema has seamlessly integrated itself as an integral part of the Art center over the years. Now, with a comprehensive upgrade, the theater proudly boasts cutting-edge 7.1 digital technology, a pristine new screen, and a selection of brand-new luxurious seating options.
The investment being made in this cinema transcends mere financials; it represents an enduring commitment to shaping the fabric of Downtown Salina for years to come. Misty Serene, executive director of Salina Art Center, and the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, commenced the day with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
