Salina Aquatics Club (SAC) to host two-day swim meet for over 150 up-and coming Kansas and Missouri athletes.
Ice Melt 2024, Salina’s annual spring USA Swimming sanctioned meet will be taking place at the Salina South High School Natatorium January 13-14, 2024.
“We are excited to host such a talented group of swimmers this year,” said Salina coach Jake Jacobs. “Not only will this swim meet provide competitive opportunities for up-and-coming athletes, but it will have a major financial impact in our community. This swim meet always provides a nice boost in revenue to local businesses such as restaurants and hotels and allows us to highlight the wonderful USD 305 facilities that our swimmers get to enjoy all year.”
The event is a short-course yards competition with timed finals, welcoming clubs from the region. SAC will be accompanied by clubs from central Kansas, along with some competitors coming from as far away as Kansas City. The two-day event will include all age group appropriate events, where athletes will compete in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and the individual medley.
- Meet start is at 10:00 am both days. The meet is expected to wrap up by 2:00 pm each day, depending on number of entries.
- Admission is free to the public. Concessions will be available.
