Rural Fire District No. 6 will Receive Addition to Current Fire Station

The Saline County Rural Fire District No. 6 recently evaluated bids for constructing an addition to its existing fire station in Smolan. Four bids were received, with Prairie Building Systems offering the lowest bid of $125,899 and an estimated completion time of 7 months. Following a review by the Board of Trustees on February 20th, it was confirmed that Prairie Building Systems met all specifications. This aligns with the district's budgetary considerations, as $95,000 from the County's ARPA Grant for Fire Districts will cover the majority of the project, while the remaining $30,899 will be sourced from the District's Special Equipment fund. The County Commission subsequently passed the resolution, endorsing the bid award to Prairie Building Systems.
