The Saline County Rural Fire District No. 5 recently reviewed bids for the procurement and installation of generators at its various stations. Among the proposals received on February 23rd, 2024, were two notable bids: DRCL Electric offered their services for $25,850, with an estimated completion time of 5 weeks, while Hedlund Electric proposed a bid of $33,689.05, with an estimated completion time of 10 weeks. Following deliberation, the Fire District No. 5 recommended awarding the bid to DRCL Electric, citing their competitive pricing and shorter completion timeframe. This recommendation was made in consideration of the allocated funds from the County's ARPA Grant for Fire Districts, which granted $58,000 for such improvements. With the generator project aligning with the grant's objectives, there remains $32,150 available for additional projects, such as roof replacement. The County Commission subsequently passed the resolution, endorsing the bid award to DRCL Electric.
