Road Viewing Cancelled After Petition Withdrawn

Road Viewing Cancelled After Petition Withdrawn

A scheduled road viewing in Saline County has been cancelled following the withdrawal of a petition by the landowner. County Administrator Philip Smith-Hanes announced the cancellation during the October 1st county commission meeting.

The road viewing had been set for Thursday in response to a petition submitted by Mr. Elliott Shrader. The petition requested access to a landlocked parcel of property.

Smith-Hanes informed the commissioners, "We did receive a notice this morning from Mr. Schrader's attorney that they are withdrawing that petition. So the road viewing will be cancelled. We will not need to meet on Thursday for that road viewing."

No further details were provided about the reasons for the petition's withdrawal.

Road viewings are typically conducted by county officials to assess proposed changes to road access or maintenance.

With the cancellation, the Thursday meeting will not take place as originally planned.
