Heavy rainfall earlier this week has caused the Smoky Hill River to rise, leading to flooding in lower areas of Bill Burke Park. Crews are currently working to remove a logjam on the river as water levels and current speed continue to increase.
According to officials, the river is expected to reach its peak on Wednesday afternoon, September 10. Portions of the park are already underwater, and visitors are advised to use caution and avoid flooded areas.
