UPDATE: Cause of Residential Fire Undetermined, Occupant & Pets Succumb to Injuries

UPDATE: Salina Fire has released an update on the residential fire that occurred on Friday, May 26. It has been learned that the fire occurred at a home in the 700 block of N Front. While the cause of the fire was undetermined, it was believed to have started on a porch at the south side of the house. Unfortunately, the occupant of the home passed away, as well as dogs that were in the home.


At 4 pm on Friday, May 26, Salina Fire was on the scene of a residential fire in the area of 500 E Woodland, near N Front and 2nd St. Reports indicate that heavy smoke is in the area and that flames are visible. There is the possibility of at least one person inside the home, as well as pets. Evergy and Salina Animal Shelter are en route. Barricades are also being set up for traffic control.
