In response to a welfare check at the Salina Public Library on Tuesday, December 12, at 12:20 pm, officers discovered a 28-year-old female victim who appeared to have been assaulted. The victim reported a domestic dispute with her 34-year-old boyfriend, identified as Antonio Vallejo.
During the altercation, Vallejo allegedly pinned the victim down, repeatedly struck her in the face, and kicked her in the lower stomach. The 28-year-old, who is pregnant, was subsequently transported to SRHC for medical attention. Vallejo was arrested on requested charges including robbery, domestic battery, criminal restraint, assault, and criminal damage to property.
The alleged incident took place in the 400 block of N 5th. Fortunately, the unborn baby is reported to be okay.
