Photo Gallery: Popcorn, Lights, and Santas: A Georgetown Christmas Tradition

For a few nights leading up to Christmas, Salina’s Georgetown neighborhood adds something extra to its light displays.

As families drive through to look at the decorations, a small group of local guys dress up as Santa and step out to greet them. Cars slow down, windows roll down, and kids are met with popcorn and treats, handed out by Santas who are clearly there for one reason: to make the season a little more fun.

For those few nights before Christmas, Georgetown turns a simple drive into a memory. That’s the kind of tradition that doesn’t need explaining.
