On Saturday, July 15 at 6:26 pm, officers were dispatched to Oakdale Park, 730 Oakdale Dr., regarding a possible stabbing. Officers arrived and found a 49-year-old male victim from Salina, had been stabbed in the side of the chest.

Numerous witnesses reported an alleged verbal altercation between two females in the park. At one point, the victim threw a soda can at one of the females. This apparently angered that female’s friend, identified as 53-year-old Gregorio Baca of Salina.

Baca allegedly approached the victim and stabbed him in the side of the chest using a 4-inch folding knife. The victim was transported to the hospital for a serious, but non-life threatening stab wound. Baca was allegedly located at Lakewood Park and he was arrested on the requested charges of Aggravated Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
