Carol Louise Linenberger
Carol Louise Linenberger passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 23rd. Carol was born in Salina on January 26, 1935, to parents Lillie and Carl Schwarz. Carol lived her early years on a farmstead Southeast of Gypsum, graduated from Gypsum High School and graduated from Marymount College of Nursing.
Carol was proceeded in death by her first husband, Richard A. Larson, her 2nd husband, Dennis A. Linenberger, sons, Craig Linenberger (Carol) and James and Joseph Larson and sister, Margaret Lawrence.
Carol is survived by her six sons, Doug Linenberger (Vail), Tim Linenberger (Janet,) Mark Larson (Liz) and Steve Linenberger (Krista) of Salina, David Larson of Kent Washington, and Tom Larson (Teri) of Bellevue, Washington, one daughter, Elizabeth Jones of Grand Junction, Colorado, a daughter in law, Carol Ayres Linenberger, Des Plaines, IL, sister, Marjorie Hansen, 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Carol was passionate about gardening, sewing/quilting, fishing, black and white western movies, and her Grand Children. She was a member at St Mary’s Church and served on the Parish Council, volunteered for the parish blood drives and St Johns Rummage sale and always looked forward to attending KSU football games with her husband Dennis, especially the tail gating. Later in life, Carol traveled extensively with church groups and was able to experience multiple destinations in Europe. Though one of her greatest joys, other than family, was her weekly card games with the ladies.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina, KS. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Friends may call at Ryan Mortuary on Friday, Sept 23, from 4 until 8:00 pm where Vigil services will be held at 6:00 pm that evening.
