Sharon Kay Beach (Simmons)

Sharon Kay Beach (Simmons), age 75, of Salina, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 15, 1949, in Salina, Sharon’s life was one filled with love and devotion to her family and friends.

A dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Salina for many years, Sharon’s compassionate nature touched the lives of many, but her greatest joy was found in her family. She loved hosting family dinners and special events, particularly at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, always creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Sharon’s love for Christmas was evident, eagerly decorating her home with her treasured Christmas village, nutcrackers, and snowmen. Her sugar cookies, fudge, and candies were legendary, and she made sure to send guests home with delicious treats.

Sharon was an artistic soul, finding joy in painting, coloring, and creating beauty in everything she did. She had a lifelong love for music, with a special fondness for Elvis Presley, and she was thrilled to visit Graceland at the age of 75, a long-time dream come true. In fact, Sharon named her firstborn daughter after Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie.

She found peace and happiness in nature, tending to her garden full of flowers and vegetables, always eager to share the fruits of her labor with others. In recent years, Sharon discovered a love for travel, making cherished memories on trips to Washington, Chicago, Yellowstone, Miami, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, South Carolina, and Colorado.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Roger Lee Beach; her mother, Ruby Morgan; and her siblings, Billy Head and Linda Bourke.

She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Lisa Button (Tom), Layla Garr (Jason), and Lora Simmons. Sharon was a proud grandmother to Eryn Thompson (Jared), Emalie Hassler, Kathryn Fink (Peyton), Tori Hoffman, and Evelyn and Stella Fitzgerald, as well as a great-grandmother to Syer and Dreya Thompson. Sharon is also survived by her siblings, Bonnie Wiebe (Steve), Elaine Goracke (Donny), Sandy Fritz, and Joyce Billings (Rod), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished her presence.

Sharon’s legacy of love, kindness, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 137 N. 8th St., Salina, KS. All are welcome to join in honoring Sharon’s life and the impact she had on everyone around her.

Memorials can be made to Salina Animal Services, 329 N 2nd St, Salina, KS, and the VFW post #1432, 1108 W Crawford St, Salina, KS, in honor of Sharon.
