David J. Meyer

David J. Meyer was born March 31st, 1968 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was adopted at 11 days old, to Roger and Ellen Meyer. David passed away Oct. 2025 in Vidalia, Ga of natural causes.

David attended Southeast of Saline (SES) and graduated in 1987. After graduation, David attended Highland Community College, Trinity College in Deerfield, Ill, and also the Univ. of Tenn. at Chattanooga.

David joined the United States Army, serving as a medic for 6 years. Post military service, he worked as an orthopedic rep, then took a position with an orthopedic surgeon. He began a career as a traveling operating room technician. This work took him from the east coast to west coast, Hawaii, and many hospital assignments in between. David met and made many friends throughout the years.

As a young child, he loved spending time with both sets of grandparents and enjoying the farm. Later on, it was lifting weights, playing football, watching Nebraska football, and playing golf. He enjoyed being a golf caddy in the Chattanooga area. As you can guess, he loved the adventures and the stories that went with that.

David is preceded in death by his father, Roger, grandparents Eldon and Luella Lyman, Grace and Kermit Meyer, Uncle Harold Meyer, Aunt Leora and Uncle Cecil Steffen. He is survived by his mother, Ellen, sister, Kristin Meyer, nephew Dawson Wallick, niece Grace Moshier, Uncle John and Fran Meyer. Special friends from the military are Ed Lopez, Dave and Charolette Gadomski, Bill Caballero, and two rottweilers who loved to have David visit.

David will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 8th at 11:00am. The service will be at the Assaria Lutheran Church Cemetery, 124 W. 1st Street, Assaria, Ks with a gathering afterwards at the church fellowship hall. Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society.


Michael Floyd Asbridge

Michael Floyd Asbridge, 61, of Salina, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center. Mike was born on November 1, 1963, in Salina to Connie J. (Aills) and Gerald S. β€œJake” Asbridge Sr.

Mike worked for Loux Home Improvement which was owned by his grandmother LeeElla Esse and Arthur J Loux during his teenage years. Then he worked for Ballou Construction, Salina, Midwest Siding, Salina, Don Keeler Construction, Salina, and Tony Pizza, Salina. As with his siblings, Mike also worked for LA Hacienda, Salina. Mike was a jack of all trades and would help anyone with a job that needed done.

Having met the love of his life in 1994, eight years later in 2002, he married his love, Candace Charles. During their 31-year love-relationship, Mike and Candy by a daughter, Stephanie M. Asbridge; son, Michael Asbridge, all the home; survived by a daughter, prior to his marriage, Felicia Horting (Devon) and grandson, Forest Horrting, all of Salina; his mother, Connie J. (Aills) Asbridge Wilson, of Salina; step-mother, Janis Poskey, of Washington, IL; grandmother, Betty Aills, of Salina. Mike also had a great love for his siblings, Douglas S. Asbridge, of Salina, LeeElla (James) Vittoe, Laura L. Asbridge, all of Salina, and Jera Lynn (Tegan) McCullough, of Washington, IL, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of many friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Jerry β€œJake” Asbridge Sr.; grandparents LeeElla Esse, Alvin and Winnifred Burch, Lester Aills, and Ray Asbridge; brother, Allen β€œBlaine” Reed Asbridge; brother, Jerry S. Asbridge; and sister, Winifred K. Hall.

Mike is a member of Ray Ave Baptist Church, of Salina, which was started by his uncle Dr. Bob Aills who also precedes him in death.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 31, at 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Ray Ave Baptist Church, with his brother Douglas S. Asbridge officiating, along with Pastor John Day.

Memorials are suggested to Ray Avenue Baptist Church or the family.


Gabriel Zachary Wilson

Gabriel Zachary Wilson, 53, of Bennington, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Gabe was the beloved son of Rebecca (Ehrsam) and Steve Wilson. He graduated from Solomon High School and went on to become a dedicated grocery store owner, serving his community with warmth and reliability for many years.

Gabe was a passionate fan of Kansas State University athletics and the Dallas Cowboys, often spending weekends cheering on his teams. His love for music was a defining part of his life, and he cherished attending concerts with his children, creating lasting memories through shared experiences and favorite songs. He also loved being a part of his children's athletics, coaching and cheering them on throughout school.

He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Wilson; son, Kian Wilson; sister, Kassie Hinson; brother, Jason Holt (Emily); and his parents, Rebecca and Steve. Gabe was preceded in death by his father, Gary Gilbert; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial gathering to honor Gabe’s life will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5th at 500 S. Ohio St. in Salina, Kansas.

The family kindly requests that donations be made to his children.

Gabe will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for family, and the joy he brought to those around him.
