Shakeim Darnell "Shak" Campbell

Shakeim Darnell "Shak" Campbell, 29, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 29th, in Salina, Kansas.

Shakeim was born in Salina, Kansas on February 25, 1995, a son of Shelby (Acheson) Anariba and Dennis Campbell.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, and watching movies.

Shakeim is survived by his mother, Shelby Anariba; sister, Amarrah Campbell; and brother, Jonathan Anariba.
 
He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Campbell.

Cremation has been chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 12th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory in Salina.


Jeanne Rae Van Zile

Jeanne Rae Van Zile, 72, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 30th, 2024.

Jeanne was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 9, 1952, daughter of Vernice (Persian) Norby.

She loved to fish and ride motorcycles.

Survivors include her two sons, Robby Van Zile (Larrissa), Jeremy Laurelas; sister, Darlene Demory (Stan); and brother, Terry Nordby.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Denise Marie Van Zile, David Allan Van Zile, Emma Laureres, Owen Laureles, Kadie Van Zile and great grandchildren, Waylon Mark Wahlen and Anthony Edwardo Van Zile.

She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Ellie Van Zile.

Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned at this time.


Gerald Rufener

Gerald Rufener, 70, of Salina, KS, Passed away September 27, 2024 In Salina, KS.

Gerald was born on June 14, 1954, in Wichita KS, and was adopted by Cecil and Harriet Rufener of Hope, KS. He graduated from Hope High School in 1973 and went on to work at Beach Aircraft for 31 years. Gerald married Wilma Iseli in 1977 and they had one son, Brian, then later divorced. He married his current wife, Grace, in 2013.

Gerald has been a member of The Odd Fellows Lodge since 2005. He enjoyed his hobbies of hunting, fishing, model trains and woodworking. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; Grace. Sons; Brian (Kristen) of Salina, KS and their children; Austin, Samantha (Matthew), Tyler (McKenzie), Hayden and Jay; Michael Huth (Katherine) of Pearland, TX and their children, Sophia and Lauren. Lynn of Salina; Kathleen of Salina and Therese of L.A. California. His brother, Wayne Rufener (Judy), sister Pamela Sheets (Jeffery) and brother-in-law (Ed Brownell) . Along with his beloved great grandchildren; Oliver, Lucas, Eva and Londyn. Nieces and nephews; Zac Sheets (Chanelle), Shantel Sheets; Kaleb and Lindsey Greenemeyer.  As well as many extended family and friends.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Harriet and his younger sister Joyce.

Funeral services will be held at St. Philip Catholic Church in Hope, KS, on October 12th at 10:30 am for a joint funeral with his sister, Joyce Brownell of Kansas City. No burial is planned, his family will spread his ashes at a later date. part of his ashes will later be interned with his wife Grace.

Memorials may be made to The Odd Fellows Lodge. Salina lodge #28, IOOF Independent Order of Odd Fellows 143 S Third St Salina, KS 67401.
