Margaret "Peg" Louise (Mohler) Schroth
Margaret Louise (Mohler) Hofer, Kelly, Schroth, 89, of Salina, Kan., passed away on December 31, 2024, at Salina Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
Peg was born February 5, 1935, to Milton and Ferne Mohler in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Milton was working for General Electric in Rio at the time. After graduating from Baker University in Baldwin Kansas, Peg married Dr. Phil Hofer. Two children, Carolyn and Paul, were born from this union.
In 1980 Peg married Jim Kelly. Jim had three daughters, Diana, Gayle and Meghan.
Peg taught ESL (English as a second language) at West High School in Wichita until she moved to Salina in 2009.
She was an inspiration and dearly loved by many, many friends of Bill W. Her friendship with Bill W. lasted almost 50 years. Pegβs inspiration and lessons will live on in the lives of others forever.
Peg enjoyed travelling. In 2011 on a trip to Ireland she met Fred Schroth. They married in April of 2012. Fred has four children, Susan, Michele, Vickie, and Jon.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dr. Jack Mohler, and husband Jim Kelly.
Survivors are husband, Fred Schroth, daughter Dr. Carolyn Hofer (Mark Zimmerman), son Paul Hofer (Shannon), grandchildren: Michal Jensen (Ray), and Philip Hofer (Brooke), Ryan, Nathan and Lauren Zimmerman, sister-in-law Jean Mohler, nephew Dr. Kendall Mohler, niece Jenny (Rene) Limacher, six stepdaughters and one stepson.
Memorials may be made to the Salina Presbyterian Manor Employee Christmas Fund.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Florence Mae Caldwell
Florence Mae Caldwell, 101 years young, of Salina, Kansas passed away January 1, 2025. She was born in Ness City, Kansas on January 27, 1923, the daughter of Floyd and Margery (Eibert) Temple. She was the eldest of 11 children, having 9 brothers and 1 sister. Florence married Raymond Lee Kline, Sr. after high school on October 10, 1941. Raymond Lee Kline, Jr. was born in 1943. Tragically, Raymond Sr. lost his life in action during World War II while fighting at the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944. After his passing, Florence and Ray Jr. moved to Salina, Kansas. Florence attended school at Brown Mackie College and became a secretary at Long McArthur Ford. It was during this time that Florence met Raymond Earl Caldwell. They married on May 7, 1955. Florence and Raymond welcomed their daughter Lovina Mae Caldwell in 1956, and moved to Culver, Kansas where they built a home and enjoyed the family farm. After Lovina grew up, they embarked on exciting trips across the United States with Raymondβs trucking company with Florence by his side as his trusted copilot. After 49 years of marriage, Raymond Earl Caldwell passed away on December 26, 2004. Throughout her life, Florence remained incredibly active in her church and enjoyed organizing events for family, friends, and neighbors. She also found great joy in playing cards, everything from Pitch to Hand and Foot, even up to the very end of her life.
Florence is survived by her children Raymond Kline, Jr. and wife Joann of Salina, Kansas and daughter Lovina Mae (Caldwell) Jordan and husband Johnny of Belle Plaine, Kansas. She is also survived by grandchildren Brent (Marla) Kline, Brenda (Bill) Sheridan, Amie Jo (Tim) Walton, Dustin (Scharlotte) Jordan and her brothers Francis (Judy) Temple of Salina, Kansas and Raymond (Mary) Temple of Elmore City, Oklahoma. Florence had 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, & 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruby Lamer, brothers Bob, Harry, Ted, Lee, Vernon, Delbert, and Lonnie and grandson Bart Kline.
A celebration of life will be held for Florence on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at 137 N Eighth St., Salina, Kansas. A luncheon will follow the service for friends and family.
A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church, Salina, Kansas and Council Hill Christian Church, 1268 N. Seneca Rd., Peck, Kansas. Memorials can be sent to 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas.
Ivy Rose McLaughlin
Ivy Rose McLaughlin, 3 months, of Belleville, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 29th, at Children's Nebraska, in Omaha.
Ivy was born in Salina, Kansas on September 10, 2024, to Cameron Jade Cleveland and William Robert McLaughlin.
βIvy Rose had the biggest most beautiful eyes and the gummiest smile. When she smiled at you, you felt just as special as she was. Ivy loved to snuggle; you could never put her down. Ivy was the greatest gift anyone could have known and will forever be loved. In her short time, Ivy touched many lives and will always be remembered, and now she can touch the lives of those she never knew with her gift of life. My sweet angel, I will spend my life waiting to meet you on the other side where the end is just the beginning and time no longer exists. Where we can begin again and goodbye will never be said. Ivy Rose, too beautiful for Earth. I love you always.β
Survivors include mother, Cameron; father, William; grandparents, Chasta Cleveland (Joe); uncles, Gannon Cleveland (Alizabeth); Jason Cleveland; great grandparents, Eldon Vohs (Dottie), Janet Snavely; great grandmother, Kathy Hensley; great great grandmother, Bobbie Paulsen; cousins, Jaydrah, Mason, and Hudson.
She is also survived by numerous other family members.
Ivy is preceded in death by her great grandfathers, Leland Snavely, and Blaine Cleveland.
The family will hold a private service and burial.

Delores Irene Ruhter
Delores Irene Ruhter, 88, passed away on December 27, 2024 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, KS. Delores was born on December 07, 1936 in Elmo, KS to parents Jake and Mollie (Fromm) Bernhardt.
She was married to the late L.D. "Jim" Ruhter. Delores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina. She worked at Kmart as a cashier until retirement.
Delores is survived by her daughters: Lori McMillan and Jean Moulton (John); 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: L.D. "Jimβ Ruhter; sisters: Gladys Bernahl and Mary Marlatt; and brothers: Marvin, Walt, and Floyd Bernhardt.
A graveside service will be held at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, KS, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
