Glenn Earl Kohr
Glenn Earl Kohr (97 years, 3 months) of Salina, KS, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He is remembered for his military service, professional achievements, musical talents, community involvement, and dedication to family.
Glenn was born Sunday, September 23, 1928, in Orwin, PA, the son of Earl and Lillian (Sando) Kohr. He grew up in Lebanon, PA, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1946. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), receiving an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1952. After his discharge, Glenn continued his education at Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
In September 1947 while stationed in Salina, KS Glenn met Eunice Pistora. After a brief three-month courtship, they were married on December 21, 1947. This union was blessed with three children: Diana (Middleburg, FL), Karen (Hutchinson), and Larry (Wichita).
After graduating from Kansas Wesleyan, Glenn launched his professional journey in the business sector serving as Treasurer/Controller for three corporations … Morrison Grain Co., Inc. and Wyatt Manufacturing, Inc. both located in Salina and Gilmore-Tatge, Inc. in Clay Center. He later transitioned into higher education, taking on the role of Business Manager at Marymount College in Salina. In 1978, he joined the Management Team at School Specialty Supply, Inc. and served in various leadership roles until his retirement in 1995, at which time he held the title of Treasurer/Controller.
Glenn had a lifelong passion for music and loved sharing his talents with others. During his military service, he played trumpet in the band, a role that defined his time in uniform. After returning to civilian life and while working in a professional office, he continued to actively pursue music, joining the Salina Municipal Band and performing with the Salina Symphony. He was also a member of the dance band King’s Men, which played venues from Kansas City to Goodland. Over the years, Glenn contributed his talents to several ensembles, including the Isis Brass Band, Shrine Band, and Heartland of America Band. He further enriched the musical community by tutoring students at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Glenn enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing. He was also an avid aviator, earning his instrument-rated private pilot license and spending many hours in the sky.
Glenn was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Salina since 1955, where he served on the Church Council and was Chairman of the Finance Committee for three years. His commitment to community extended beyond the church, as he shared his talents with various organizations. He was an active member of the International Rotary Club in both Clay Center and Salina. He served as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Salina Symphony. Glenn also held the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Endowment Fund of Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.
Glenn was actively involved in the Salina Masonic Lodge #60. He was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on December 1, 1995. He served in many of the Lodge’s offices, achieving the office of Worshipful Master of Salina Lodge #60 in 1963.
Throughout his distinguished Masonic career, Glenn served the Kansas Grand Lodge with dedication. Early on, he contributed as a member of both the Registration and Credential Committees, and in 1964, he was appointed District Deputy Grand Master. His leadership continued to be recognized, and in 1998, he was named Grand Senior Deacon of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Kansas. His commitment to the fraternity resulted in his installation as Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Kansas Grand Lodge, a role he held with distinction from 2002 to 2003.
Glenn was a distinguished member of several Masonic and affiliated organizations. He held memberships in both the Salina and Ellsworth York Rite Bodies and was a Life Member of the Valley of Salina Scottish Rite, where he has been honored as a 33 Degree Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (K.C.C.H.). He served as Potentate of ISIS Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (A.A.O.N.M.S.) in Salina. Additionally, Glenn was a member of Harmony Chapter #2, Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.), where he served as Worthy Patron in 1981. His affiliations also included the Royal Order of Jesters, the Knights of Mecca, and the St. David Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine.
Glenn is survived by his three children, Diana (Bruce) Gilpin, Karen (John) Troyer, and Larry (Carol) Kohr; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Eddis) King, Stephanie Hillcher, Michelle (Scott) Hillard, Kyle (Suzette) Van Doren, Kimberly (James) Lott, Joshua (Kristin) Kohr, Jessica (Richard) Conkling; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous friends, and special caregiver, Ashley Klaurens.
He was preceded in death by Eunice, his wife of 71 years; mother Lillian; father Earl and his wife Betty; brothers Jack and his wife Roney, and Roger; sister-in law Gwendolyn Schoshke and her husband Kenneth.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Glenn’s life will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Salina) with Rev. Kim Frederking presiding. Prior to the church service, a family burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery (Salina) with Masonic and Military Honors ceremonies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Kansas Honor Flight in care of Ryan Mortuary (Salina).
Ronald “Ron” Earl Ash
Ronald “Ron” Earl Ash, age 76, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born April 1, 1949, in Lindsborg, Kansas, as a twin, to Earl and Gloria Ash.
Ron proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked in various fields before retiring from UPS with more than fifteen years of dedicated service
He loved life’s simple pleasures and could often be found on the riverbank chasing catfish or working in his shop.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Elnora Ash and Earl McCoy Ash, and by his twin brother, Donald “Donnie” Ash of Salina, Kansas.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie (Emig, Call) Ash, of the home; his daughter, Stephanie Lynn (Ash) Bell, and her husband, Glen, of Raytown, Missouri; three stepchildren: Josh Call and Jessica Call, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jamie Campbell (Jeramie) of San Francisco, California; Ron was blessed with two grandchildren, Sean Hamilton (Eryn) of Springfield, Missouri, and Jessika Ferguson (Brandon) of Holden, Missouri; along with six great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lynn Wilson (Ron) of Salina, Kansas, and Lori Baxter (Mike Dipman) of Lindsborg, Kansas; his brother, Steve Ash (Nancy) of Douglass, Kansas; and his sister-in-law, Pat (Emig) Cosby (Mark) of Salina, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at New Community Christian Church, 530 E. Cloud Street, Salina, Kansas.
A private family burial will take place.
Ron will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, humor, and love for God and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joshua Ryan Norris
Joshua Ryan Norris, 36, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Born September 24, 1989, in Salina, Kansas, Joshua was the beloved son of Sherri Ann (Murray) Krug. After completing school, he pursued his passion for cooking and worked as a cook in numerous restaurants, finding joy in serving others through his work.
Joshua was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and KU. He loved playing basketball, spending time at the park, and taking walks—especially with Karley. His warm spirit and love for life touched everyone around him.
Joshua is survived by his son, Quintin; two brothers, Jeffery Humphries (Meriam) and Jason Taylor; aunts, Kim Beran and Angela Cearley (Charles); his significant other, Karley Burris and her children, Quinlynn and Mateo; his mothers cat, Elvis; and many cousins who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherri, and grandparents, Barbara Moore and Robert Murray.
Cremation has been chosen, and no services are planned.
