James Dale Lindblad
James Dale Lindblad, 85, of Assaria, Kansas passed away November 21, 2024. Born on January 23, 1939, Jim dedicated his life to the land as a proud Kansas farmer, a vocation that reflected his love for community and family.
Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Sarah (Toburen) Lindblad and their daughter Jenny Casey, son-in-law Tom, and grandsons Caleb and Josh. He is also survived by his sisters, Dodie Turnquist and Shirley Trimble, brother-in-law David, and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Arnold and Bernice (Hanson) Lindblad, and his son, Jason Lindblad.
Jim held deep roots in the community, and he was a symbol of hard work and commitment. He was a respected leader at Assaria Lutheran Church, where he was baptized, confirmed, and held several leadership positions throughout his life. Jim was known for his exceptional memory, often recounting detailed histories of his family and community, and he was always ready to lend a quiet hand in times of need. Jim’s leadership, wisdom, humor and ornery nature will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.
A service to honor his life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 7th, at Assaria Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Assaria Lutheran Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Randall Bradley Hiechel
Randall Bradley Hiechel, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, in Salina, Kansas, at the age of 34. Born on April 21, 1990, in Holton, Kansas, Randall was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life, though too short, was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family.
Randall was the beloved son of Amanda Sue Macklin and Richard Eugene Tripp, and the proud son of George Martin Hiechel and Julie Gail Hiechel. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tripp, and his paternal grandparents, Francis and Harrison Tripp and Donald Hiechel. Randall is survived by his loving siblings, David Hiechel (Vicki), Kimberly Hiechel (Merlan), Samuel Hiechel (Shai), Don Hiechel, Lyle Workman (Chrystal), and Roy Workman (Alice). He was also a devoted uncle to his nephew, Zaden Dawson, and his niece, Scarlett Hiechel. Randall's legacy continues through his ex-wife, Meanna Laurin, and his stepdaughter, who both hold cherished memories of him.
A proud alumnus of Quivira Heights High School in Bushton, Kansas, Randall furthered his education at Kansas State University in Salina, Kansas. He was known for his commitment to learning and his ability to inspire those around him. Throughout his career, Randall found fulfillment in his work, particularly at First Choice Security where he created lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
Randall was not just a dedicated worker; he was also a passionate member of the Ragnorak Larp community, where he found joy and camaraderie. He had a profound love for his family and valued the time spent together at family gatherings, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A service to honor Randall's life will be held on December 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to come and celebrate his life, sharing stories and memories that truly encapsulate the spirit of a man who gave so much love and light.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be sent to 137 North 8th, Salina, Kansas, to support Randall’s memorial.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Salina Police Department and the Salina Emergency Technicians for their tireless efforts in caring for Randall during his time of need.
